Loaf Logic plans sourdough by the biology of fermentation, not by a generic clock. Tap the tabs below the screen to move between Plan, Starter, Timeline, Method, and Diary.
What does the feeding planner actually do?
You tell it when you want to mix dough and how warm your kitchen is. It picks a seed:flour:water ratio so your starter peaks right at your mix time — not an hour too early or three hours too late.
What's the "target rise" number?
It's the Two-Factor Method target: a linear relationship between dough temperature and how much the dough should grow during bulk fermentation. Warm dough wants ~20% rise because it'll keep fermenting while it cools. Cool dough wants 75%+ because it won't.
How does the live timer work?
Tap Start the bake on the Timeline tab and the planner switches to Live mode. In the Android and iOS app, every remaining step is scheduled with your phone's alarm system, so alerts arrive even with the screen locked or the app closed. In a browser, keep the tab open — the chime and notification fire from the page. A countdown stays on the current step, the mini-bar follows you across tabs, and pause/shift/skip re-schedule everything — your bake survives a full reload or reboot.
Can I save my own recipe?
Open Advanced controls → Custom recipe on the Plan tab, tune the numbers to match your go-to formula, and tap Save. It lives in your browser only — no account, no cloud.
Does the bake plan work without a cold proof?
Yes. Toggle Overnight cold proof off in the Plan → Schedule card and the planner switches to a same-day final proof without breaking any other step.
What about metric vs imperial?
Use the Weight and Temperature controls at the top of Plan. The default is grams plus °F; internally the formula still stays in grams and Celsius.
